CM Ajit Pawar Dies in Plane Crash
In a tragic aviation disaster early Wednesday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Anantrao Pawar has been confirmed dead after the chartered aircraft he was traveling in crashed while attempting to land at Baramati airport this morning.
The mid-size Learjet 45 aircraft, operated by a charter company, was en route from Mumbai to Baramati ahead of election campaigning when it crash-landed and burst into flames. All on board, including Pawar, two pilots, his personal security officer and an attendant, were killed in the accident.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene but were unable to save any of the passengers due to the severity of the crash and the resulting fire.
