Advertising Policy
On this page (5)
Advertising and sponsorship can support independent journalism, but they must never shape it. These rules apply whenever EEST TV carries paid content.
Separation from journalism
- Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over our news coverage, and no right to review, approve or change any story before or after publication.
- Journalists do not write advertising or sponsored content.
- Buying advertising does not buy coverage, and a decision to cover or not cover a company is never linked to its advertising.
Labelling
- Display ads appear in clearly marked spaces labelled “Advertisement”.
- Sponsored articles or partner content, if we run them, are labelled “Sponsored” or “Partner content” at the top, name the sponsor, and are visually distinct from news. They are excluded from news sitemaps and marked to search engines as sponsored links.
- Affiliate links, if used, are disclosed in the article.
How ads are shown and counted
- We carry only banners that advertisers book with us directly. There are no ad networks, ad exchanges, sponsored-content feeds or third-party ad code on EEST TV, and ads never run scripts in your browser.
- Each banner sits in a fixed, labelled space, so ads do not push the page around while you read. Several banners in one space take turns every few seconds; you can pause them by pointing at them or moving through them with the arrows, and they do not move on their own if your device asks for reduced motion.
- Banner links are marked as sponsored to search engines and go through a short EEST TV address that counts the click before opening the advertiser's page.
- We count how many times each banner was seen (at least half of it on screen) and clicked, as daily totals per banner. We use no cookies for this and keep nothing about you: no identifier, no profile, no record of what you read. Visits from automated programs are not counted. Advertisers receive only these totals.
What we do not accept
- Ads that are misleading, or that break Indian law or the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) Code;
- Ads for unregistered investment schemes, guaranteed-return offers, unregistered financial “tips” or betting and gambling where unlawful;
- Ads designed to look like news articles without a clear label;
- Political advertising that does not meet Election Commission of India requirements;
- Ads that collect personal data without a clear notice, or that use deceptive design.
