NEW DELHI: Lakmē Fashion Week, held in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India, returns to New Delhi from October 13 to 18, with the main programme at the Taj Palace hotel from October 14, The Luxury Chronicle reported on October 2. The edition is presented by the House of Lakmē, FDCI and Reliance Brands.
Beauty at the centre
The House of Lakmē will use the week to introduce the Lakmē 9to5 Hya Glam range, a make-up line that it describes as skincare-powered and infused with a Hyaluronic Complex. The range is built around the idea of a "5 PM Glam Reset", a quick change from a work look to an evening one, with products focused on colour, shine and dimension.
The season closes with the House of Lakmē Grand Finale on October 18, featuring AM.IT by designer Amit Aggarwal, known for a craft-led, structured approach to contemporary Indian design. The opening show is a collaboration between Lakmē and Tira, with the label pero.
Beauty brands appear elsewhere in the schedule too. Lakmē Salon and designer Anushree Reddy present MAYA on October 16, and the partner list includes TRESemmé and Vaseline.
The week day by day
The week opens on October 13 at the Embassy of France with the finale of the R|Elan Circular Design Challenge, run with the United Nations in India as part of the India-France Year of Innovation 2026. The challenge drew more than 220 applications from around the world, and seven finalists will present ideas in circular design.
October 15 brings the GenNext winners, Day & Age, Subbah and Abhishek Chauhan Studio, as well as an FDCI collaboration with Moscow Fashion Week featuring Russian designer Sergey Sysoev, SV by Suneet Varma and Samant Chauhan, who is working with Jaisalmer Crafted Bar on a series of collectibles, according to Elle India. October 16 features Namrata Joshipura with OPPO, Ashish N Soni with Arvind, and Mini Sondhi, ORCR and Somya Goyal.
On October 17, Manish Malhotra returns to Lakmē Fashion Week after three years with a festive luxury prêt collection presented by Maruti Suzuki NEXA, The Luxury Chronicle reported. The final day includes the FDCI x Pearl Academy First Cut for emerging designers, the NEXA Spotlight, now in its 12th edition, a fashion story from Ladakh called The Fifth Season, and Ethnix by Raymond's Wedding Stories, before Aggarwal's finale.
Twice a year
Lakmē Fashion Week was first held in 2000 and is organised by IMG Reliance and Lakmē, now in partnership with FDCI. It runs twice a year: a summer-resort edition in Mumbai in March and a winter-festive edition in Delhi in October. Over the years its runways have featured supermodel Naomi Campbell and actors including Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Deepika Padukone, and it helped launch the career of designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Beyond the runway
The FDCI Showroom will let buyers see the participating designers' collections, followed by an FDCI Stockroom where selected pieces will be sold at lower prices. All shows will be streamed live on Lakmē, Lakmē Fashion Week and FDCI digital platforms and on JioTV.
The partner list spans fashion, beauty, cars, technology and textiles, with Maruti Suzuki NEXA, American Express, OPPO, R|Elan, SUPIMA, Carlsberg, Arvind and NIF Global among the names. SUPIMA, the trademark for American-grown extra-long staple Pima cotton, will also announce a collaboration with AK|OK by Anamika Khanna, to be shown in March 2027.
